Indian Rose Mantis or Violin Mantis (Gongylus Gongyloides)

This species is from India and is also  known as the Wondering Violin Mantis. They like very warm temperatures.  This mantis is communal but is not for the novice. A heat source is  recommended for keeping this species. Their unique shape makes it one of  the most interesting mantids available. They prefer flying insects.  Leafy projections on the head and legs gives a similar appearance to the  cryptic mantis.
